Hi Joey,

As per your experience, you might be eligible for the PMP exam. But for clarification, it is important to check the projects on which you have worked till now. And even if you are not eligible, you should start preparing for the PMP exam it will take a few months for the exam preparation. By the time you are preparing you will gain enough experience to apply for the PMP exam.

– Bachelors in business management
– 2 years Managing a Student Organization at San Diego State University
1 – year as an administrative coordinator
2 – years as a supervisor for a catering company.

In reply to Jack. Also wanted to mention that I don't want to directly pivot into a project management role immediately. My intention in considering the PMP is to have better training when I am leading projects and teams in my technical roles. And to also have better prospects for me in the future for management-type roles.

Hi! I graduated in Industrial and Systems engineering in 2020, have 12 months of engineering internship experience, and 19 months of data science full-time experience. Would I be eligible for the PMP? If not, how soon can I apply for the PMP after getting the CAPM first?

I have my master’s degree in physics from india and also i have my MS in software engineer in USA. I have a 10 years experience as a software engineer and have a 1.5-2 years experience in leading the team.
